All of the previous functionality still is there, and customizing the background and case color options for each Sims’ phone is easier than ever. Body Hair Body Hair is here and no lycanthropy is required. You will find a selection of arm, leg, torso, and back hair now available for all of your teen Sims and older. Find these new options in the Body section of Create a Sim. Proudly show off those distinct mammalian features. Sexual Orientation Create a Sim now offers more options to support the Sexual Orientation of the Sims. Located in the “More Details” section of “Customize Gender,” you can now select the gender identities a Sim is romantically attracted to, whether the Sim is exploring romantically, and the type of Sim they are interested in WooHoo or Messing Around with if they are even interested in Woohoo or Messing Around. If you do not change these settings, your Sim will maintain the default orientation settings known to The Sims, meaning they’ll have no inherent attraction to a specific gender, their attraction can shift through gameplay, and they will WooHoo or Mess Around with any gender. This base game update replaces whims and includes a large selection of Wants that your Sims will want to achieve or Fears they want to overcome. This feature is on by default and you can toggle them off in the “Gameplay” options menu. Curved Walls Builders who feel limited by sharp 90° corners can round out their creativity with this update: Curved Walls are coming to your collection of Build tools! Place and adjust medium, large, and extra large curved rooms. Builders who are familiar with curved decks, fences, and platforms will find familiar controls for these new walls. Some doors and windows fit better than others, so to find the ones that do work well on these walls, use the new “Supports All Curved Walls” and “Supports Large and X-Large Curved Walls” filters within Build Mode. Bug Fixes Console On some PlayStation®4 systems, Eco Lifestyle’s Evergreen Harbor had a lot of objects flickering in the environment. We think we have squelched the problem. If you see it, please let us know and provide information about the model of PlayStation and OS version. On Xbox, interacting with Cottage Living’s Chicken Coop no longer causes the cursor to vanish. Closing the Notebook interface now hides its controller legend as well. The Sims 4 base Game Sims can, once again, scoot over to an open side of the bed that is pushed up against the wall. Sims deliver food reliably to toddlers via the "Grab Serving for " interaction. Throwing a birthday party for a toddler? Sims now can "Compliment the Birthday Sim" to complete the party if that goal appears. Did you know that your Sims can take care of a Need on their own if you click on the Need in the Needs panel? Give it a whirl! Sims with the Neat Trait now clean themselves when you click on "Hygiene" instead of cleaning their home. Vault Modular Counter maintains its color underneath the dirt when it gets dirty. Sims jog once again when using The MotionMonitor Gaming Mat and PrioPerfection Motion Sensor Game Mat. The "Save" and "Delete" buttons now both appear when mousing over a save slot on the "Save Game" screen. Sims can ask about these Likes and Dislikes without having their own preferences for them: Décor, Color, Hobbies & Skills, and Music. Since Sims in the same household know each other already, they no longer have the option to ask about various Likes and Dislikes. "Ask about Career" is the one exception. When socializing with another Sim, questions related to "Likes and Dislikes" now are grouped together under a category with that name. Your Sims went on a vacation with another household. You just heard through a Neighborhood Story notification that they adopted! That notification now has the name of that household's home world rather than the vacation world. Placing a Lot from the Gallery defaults to its Lot type instead of asking to change to the location's Lot type. When you have a window that aligns to the dotted half-tile mark and the window is as wide as its footprint, you now can place another window like that right next to it. Placing a rounded platform within another room now fills in the floor tiling around the curve. Placing Dragonfly Swarm and Mosquitos on ponds now results in dragonflies and mosquitoes, respectively. Bzzzzzzz bzzz.... Cars viewed from a distance on low-end computers now look more like cars and less like a newbie woodworking project. That screen that appears when you can choose which Sim to do something with the active Sim... we adjusted the header so longer text does not overlap with the portrait of your Sim. That screen also consistently shows the "Everyone" category now when it pops up. Behind-the-scenes pregnancy tracking has some improvements for better performance and stability. We fixed three types of crashes: [PS4-only] One sometimes happened on PS4 when saving a Lot to My Library. One was related to graphics. And the peskiest one sometimes happened when placing a Retail Lot that had mannequins. Take that, crashes! Promotion Requirements in the Career panel now has a helpful hover-tip. The Lot Challenges icon now has a helpful hover-tip. Cats & Dogs These curtains now can be placed around windows: Casual Country Curtains, Cozy Country Curtains, and Charming Country Curtains. Seasons Gnomes placed from the Inventory no longer continue generating seed packets after the Harvestfest ends. Island Living Children make progress for their Outdoor Adventurer badge when they catch fish or frogs. Discover University After switching specialization branches in a career, your Sim now earns their well-deserved rewards from that new career. The button to "Go to Class Early" now appears one hour before University classes start. Sims go to University classes early when directed to if they are at their campus. Eco Lifestyle What, you don't want to see books among available ingredients for the Juice Fizzing station? Well, okay. Loading ingredients now shows only proper, edible ingredients. Idle animations for enjoying a fizzy drink while seated at a table now play appropriately. Sims can wash off the "Dyed In An Explosion!" moodlet with a good shower or bath. Snowy Escape Sims in the Salaryperson career can complete the "Host Phone Conference" task consistently. Drinking the Lifestyle-Go-Poof Potion now actually removes Lifestyles. Go forth and discover your new you! Sims now correctly gain up to three active Lifestyles. Mountain Climb Excursions now start instead of automatically canceling. Let's go conquer those climbs together! Cottage living Specific Chicken Coop variants remain the same color when becoming dirty. Chickens no longer prevent the Egg Hunt Holiday tradition from completing. Rumor is they were collecting all the decorative eggs for themselves. Verdant Mushroom Soup now shows up properly when choosing it from the list of recipes to cook with other Sims and grabbing servings. A collection of decorative items that were once useless. I have been a Simmer for many years, and based on my own experience, I can tell you that I would still be struggling to enjoy playing the game without my mods and custom content. My Sims did the same things daily: sleep, eat, work, then sleep again - the game failed to challenge my boredom to the point that the only thing I did was build, decorate, play with my newly-created Sim family for a short while - only to do it all over again. For many years, I filled my game with a variety of custom content that caught my eye. Then again, my game still felt like it was missing something... it felt dull and empty. I wanted to give up on the game, but I just could not turn my back on something that I had learned to love for more than twenty years. Thus, a few years back, I decided to add mods. I modified my game with a few custom food at first. A few became a lot, then a lot more - I do not regret my decision because my game has come to life. My Sims no longer mimic robots. They now have personalities and lives that I can spectate from a third-person view. They get thirsty. They cannot travel without a passport. They change their bedsheets. They sweep their floors. They collect logs for the fireplace. They have menstrual cycles and enjoy sex in different styles! Oh my! My Sim families that were once predictable are now busy leading different lives that are pretty impulsive. Now, I am enjoying my game very much. But it is also because of this that I realized that the Sims game has so many non-cc decorative items that are nice but pointless. It almost felt like these Maxis items were just taking up precious space on my hard drive, which would be more beneficial for new custom content and mods. I felt terrible for the non-cc items because I did not use them, and I did not want them. I hoped they were helpful, and that hope became a reality when I discovered iLexSims by chance. The simple and short journey of a dying Sim. My Sim, Belle Lithgow, is in the middle of passing away... but unlike the death of most Sims, there will be no Grim Reaper at the beginning or end of her life tunnel. With the use of the mod "Mortem," we can now pay respect to our dead Sim the right way, where the lifeless body of Belle will be prepared for her funeral service. But when you do, be mindful of your Sims' liquid intake unless you want them to end up like Belle. You can find the mod here. WATCH THE VIDEO The Sims 4: Rest in Peace Watch my Sims experience the loss of Belle, and join them as they prepare for her final resting place. Death and mortality is not positive experience. The reality of death is uncomfortable and painful. But I want to enhance my gameplay to something closer to reality. This is where the Mortem mod comes in. Mortem introduces the realities of death to the game in a way that the Sims franchise never touched before. The mortem process is not as simple as your Sim dying and waiting for the Grim reaper to reap the soul of your Sim. However, it is not as complicated as you may think it is. The main difference is that you don't just cry and say bye-bye to your dead Sim and wait for them to haunt you at night. For me, this mod allows my Sim to experience the loss of their loved one and indeed involve themselves in the whole process. I highly suggest that you give this mod a chance. From bereavement leaves to choosing your Sim's Sunday best, the death of a sim will turn out to be one heck of a journey that is simply jaw-dropping. Now, I bring to you thirteen more awesome appliances that you and your Sims can enjoy. Installing Custom Content and Mods Step 1: Every mod/custom content should be placed in My Document>Electronic Arts>The Sims 4> Mods. Step 2: If the cc/mod you download is in .package format, you can place it anywhere you want in the Mods folder. If it is a SCRIPT mod, you cannot put it inside a sub-sub folder. I genuinely enjoy making the butter and cheese the most. I highly recommend this churn. 09. Functional Mill Description This mill comes in (2) two types: industrial and rustic. Different products like wheat flour, rice, sticky rice, sugar, cream cheese, and many more can be made from this mill. However, your Sim will need to learn to mill by having to read the Milling Manual. As your Sim's skill increases, more products can be made, and they can either be sold on plopsy or be used as ingredients in many recipes. Silk Processor and Silk Farm Description This appliance allows your Sim to farm silkworms which will create raw Silk for your Sim to collect. Once the Silk is collected, you can either sell it raw or process it using the Silk Processor (you can steam and dye the Silk to be ready for weaving, see functional loom for this.) The essential oils have different uses; some can make soap, while some can be used for a massage. You may also sell them to a Perfumery or use some of them as additives to your laundry. Other uses include bathing with a few selected essential oils and as an oil for your incense. This gives you the ability to build a laundry room using counters etc. This does not override the sources, so you can still use those in other builds if you would like. Once, I deleted a custom content and failed to realize that this green toaster was a part of that file - when I realized it was missing from my game, I spent hours just trying to find it. Luckily, I did, but I had no clue where it came from and what its name was. I searched for it on the net every way I could and found it a month later. I am happy. Although I cannot find the link to the original creator, I was able to find recolors with the mesh included. I am not sure why I adore this green toaster, but I do. Battlemancers are battlefield tacticians who always start with an edge in combat by using the best available skills and spells for each fight they enter. They love being in the thick of things, but unlike Knight-Enchanters, they don't rely on durability to win the fight: they use clever tactics and massive damage to obliterate their enemies. Depending on the fight, they also switch their spells according to what they need from their impressive arsenal. This is one of the best builds for any Necromancer who plans to solo the game, but it also works well with a full team. So, let's begin! Skills: As we know, Necromancers have access to a unique spell called “Waking Bomb”. What this spell does is: after applying it on a target, it will deal continuous spirit damage based on your weapon's base damage and after a few seconds, it explodes. You also have the option to detonate the spell manually. What’s great about this spell is that it is also available as a masterwork! It works similarly, but with two exceptions: One, is that the applications will be based on chance (10%), and the second is that the ticking damage and the final explosion damage will be based on the damage which applied it. So this means that if you applied Walking Bomb with a spell like Fire Mine(which gives 1600% weapon damage), your continuous spirit damage and explosion damage will be calculated based on the damage of Fire Mine. This can cause a horrendous amount of damage. Especially if the target is weak to spirit damage. But it does not stop here with Walking Bomb. As a Necromancer, you can manually detonate the spell, and that detonation will apply whatever upgrade you choose with your own spell. With the Concentrated Detonation upgrade, Walking Bomb will turn into a single target spell, dealing colossal spirit damage on the specific target it procced on. With the Virulent upgrade, it will cause secondary explosions, which will tear apart any crowd. Both of these upgrades can be changed at any time outside of combat. So, to summarize it: if you go against mobs, which happens most of the times, you switch to the Virulent upgrade. If you are heading towards a boss battle, where it's just you and the boss, then you can switch to Concentrated Detonation. On your way to the Walking Bomb spell, you will have to pick up a passive called "Simulacrum". This ability will allow you to have an invulnerable "spirit" fight for you even after you fell unconscious. After the spirit leaves, you will die. Pretty useful if you are playing in a team, but if you plan to adventure alone, this passive can be a curse if not used well. See, Simulacrum overwrites the Guardian Shield passive which normally gives you full Barrier after your health reaches zero, saving your hide in the process. Simulacrum activates first, therefore the shield you gain from Guardian Spirit will be useless, since the spirit already took over. However, there are a few catches when it comes to Simulacrum. For you to understand why this skill is actually great if you solo, you need to understand how healing works in Inquisition. Normally when your health reaches zero, death happens. But death will not prevent you from receiving "healing effects". This is how you normally revive people. Heal effects can come from anywhere and they will give you health even after you died, resurrecting you in the process. For people who solo, the easiest way to achieve this is to get "Heal on hit" or "Heal on Kill" equipment. With Heal on hit, you just have to make sure you hit the target after you died and the heal effect will bring you back. With heal on kill, you have to kill an enemy during the short window as you fall to the ground. Simulacrum will extend this short window and it will allow you to have a guaranteed hit with Energy Barrage or make a kill with an exploding Walking Bomb, which will bring you back into life. This passive skill has a ten second cooldown after activation, so you have to be careful not to die during this time. But it does not end here with Simulacrum either... Because of the way the ability works, it also has a unique "damage reduction" side-effect, because you can't take more damage than what your current health is minus one. This means that if your heath is at 50 point, you will never take more damage than 49, no matter how strong the ability is which hits you. So, remember: the lower your health is, the longer you survive if you have an extra layer of protection like Guard or Barrier. This can give you massive survivability bonus if you chose to use it. Neither of these effects from Simulacrum is required to complete the build, but they can help you survive better. After all, the Necromancer is pretty squishy. Just Like any other Necromancer, a Battlemancer also has excellent regeneration abilities. With their Death Syphon ability, they can literally suck life and mana out of their fallen enemies, and with the Power of the Dead passive, they will inflict more damage after a kill. However, using Death Syphon is not recommended if you go with the Simulacrum damage reduction route, since this would actually decrease the damage reduction effect because of your increasing current health after a kill. Additional Skills: Barrier is an invaluable asset for a Battlemancer, since you often jump right into the fray to land that Ice/Fire Mine. Elegant Defense is generally better, since this way you can put it up more often. Mind Blast with the Fortifying Blast upgrade will increase your survivability significantly. It can also push enemies into your mines, and detonate a nice little basic combo on frozen and paralyzed enemies. It also has a special effect: some Walking Bombs can fail to explode after activation. You get the explosion sound and visual effect, but no damage is applied. This happens most commonly when you try to detonate frozen enemies. Mind Blast can actually detonate these failed explosions, because of the basic combo it creates when applied on frozen enemies. Another useful defensive spell is Fade Step. No upgrade is required however, since the basic spell will provide us with the necessary mobility. As I mentioned before, Fire Mine is also a necessary part of a Battlemancer's arsenal, since it is one of the highest damage producing skill. Winter's Grasp is also a must on single targets, since with the Winter's Ruin upgrade, it can work wonders on fire immune enemies and bosses, especially if it procs Walking Bomb. This spell can be switched to Ice Mine with the Chilling Array upgrade if you go against mobs immune to frost. As a third offensive spell, we will pick Energy Barrage. This spell has high damage, guaranteed hit on almost any enemy and it applies status effects based on your weapon's element: Chilled on frost, burning on fire and shocked on lightning. With its Energy Bombardment upgrade, the damage increases even further, thanks to the applied negative resistances. Useful passive skills: Ice Armor is great for additional protection, Mana Surge is used for frost explosion upon your Barrier's destruction, Static Charge is needed for interrupting enemies before they can hit you. This passive even works on bosses, although the hit sometimes still connects even if they get paralyzed from the passive. Conductive Current can have great benefit, since it gives higher damage based on used mana. Winter's Stillness, Clean Burn and Flash Point are all great for faster ability activation. Equipment: Blade of Tidarion schematics. Reward for completing the war table operation "Stop the War between Nevarra and Tevinter" with Josephine. It requires the Trespasser dlc. The rune is optional. The best result with this blade is to place an element in it which is different from the sword's. This way you can shoot both types of element as a projectile from Energy Barrage. Placing a cold rune into this lighting based sword allowed me to apply "chilled" effect on enemies, therefore I was able to take advantage of Winter's Ruin’s 1000% damage boost. Superior Battlemage armor schematics. Requires the Short List perk and a bit of luck. You can buy it from the Hissing Wastes merchant when it's available at the shop. Note that the Sturdy Battlemage armor schematics can also be purchased from this shop, which is slightly weaker than this one, but you don't have to rely on random chance for it to turn up. The upgrades on this armor can also be purchased from this shop. For Sigils, both the Sigil of the Deepstalker and the Sigil of the Great Bear can be of great use for the Battlemancer, depending on the situation. It is best to keep both with you. Sigil of the Great Bear: Reward for completing the War Table quest "Gain Orzammar's Friendship" with Josephine. Sigil of the Deepstalker: Either random loot from chests or Deepstalkers, or reward for completing the War Table quest "Press the Orlesian Nobles" with Josephine. Both of these sigils require the Trespasser dlc. Superior Battlemage cowl schematics. You can purchase this item from the Stone-Bear Hold armor merchant from the Jaws of Hakkon dlc. You can place either Willpower or Magic materials, depending on what you are looking for: more Barrier Damage(Magic) or more Magic Resistance(Willpower). Belt of Winter Pact. Reward for completing the quest "Map to a waterfall". This can be changed to whichever element you favor the most: Inferno, Winter or Storm. I picked this to increase the damage of my Energy Barrage and my Winter's Grasp. Andraste's sacrifice. You can find this amulet in a chest in Villa Maurel located in the Emerald Graves. It is an excellent equipment for the Battlemancer, since it accelerates cooldowns, increases mana regeneration, and it even adds guard occasionally. You can buy Ring of Slicing from the Black Emporium. The Winter's Grasp ring is random loot. Naturally, Ring of Doubt can also work well here. The last, and invaluable part of our equipment, is a fully upgraded Pitch Grenade. This bomb will make sure that our enemies will be slow, deal less damage, take more damage and even paralyzed for a short time! If used tactically, this little flask can help end difficult battles is seconds. Combat: Our goal is to maximize our damage output as fast as we can. We start with Barrier, then get close to our enemies by running or with Fade Step and basically unload on them. Against mobs, the best is to start with Ice Mine(on more dangerous mobs, you can start with Pitch Grenade) and immediately apply Fire Mine on the frozen crowd. This should give a great amount of initial damage. Fire Mine also has a high chance to proc this way. After the two mines were applied, Mind Blast can detonate the still frozen enemies, adding a nice little basic combo damage. This also has a chance to proc Walking Bomb. Once it procs, with the Virulent upgrade, it can make short work of any crowd. Barrier and Mind Blast can be used to gain constant Barrier and stay safe from attacks while you are in close range. Still, if you prefer to take down some of the more dangerous enemies, Energy Barrage and Winter’s Grasp should be more than adequate for the job. Against bosses, depending on their resistances, Fire Mine and Winter’s Grasp can deal a great amount of damage if they apply Walking Bomb. You should try to proc Walking Bomb with them as much as you can. Energy Barrage is also a great weapon against bosses because of its great number of projectiles, but since Walking Bomb can proc after each individual projectile, its damage after proccing Walking Bomb is pretty weak compared to Fire Mine or Winter’s Grasp. After Walking Bomb procced, you just have to keep unloading on them and biding your time, while the damage from the masterwork can do its job. Overall, this playstyle is very fun to play, but it requires constant attention. No doubt, this can be the highest damage having mage in the entire game, but you have to know what you are facing and how to deal with it. You have to prepare before every hard fight, browse through your arsenal (you have a spell for every situation after all) and pick the best possible spell and tactic for the danger ahead. Good luck! A place where Sims not only have enough resources for day-to-day needs but a place where work and life are balanced. The Village is a residential lot where Sims of different families thrive to create a farming community. My main Sim, Robert, and his family live a simple life where their main income is dependent on their small bakery. With the help of LittleMsSam's Mod called "Live in Business," my Sims are able to run their own business at home. Together, the residents of The Village spend most days milling, churning, grinding, and farming - at the end of the day, their fruits of labor allow my Sims to enjoy a comfortable, and secure life Note This is a work in progress. The separated and improved produce displays are from Ravasheen (taken from the Cottage Living EP) and are perfect for cluttering up a farmer's market or grocery store. The bridge is unfinished. The walls for the bridge are Debug items. To the left is a chapel where I keep some books, and my Sims go into reading - it's almost as if they are praying inside. The small tractor is a debug item. The Phonebooth is a debug item. However, I replaced it with one that I downloaded from Sims41ife which you can find here. The 2 vehicles are also debug items. The Retail Produce Stand is from Brazenlotus, and you can get it here. The horse is only for decor, but it is pretty and good to have when you have a ranch or a farm. You can get it here. The chicken coop is from icemunmun, and it can be downloaded from here. I like to have both icemunmun's chicken coop and the coop that comes with the Cottage Living expansion. Although both produce eggs, icemunmun's chicken coop help in other ways - and its interactions are as follows: Set Up Coop, Buy Chickens, Feed Chickens, Check for Eggs, Collect Eggs, Look for Easter eggs, Observe, Converse with Chickens, Rename Coop, Play with Chicks, Hug Chicken, Tell Story, Insult/Use fowl Language, and it also gives you chicken meat which can be used in some recipes. The well is from Ravasheen. It is a functional, off-grid compatible wishing well that allows your Sim to gather water daily. Get it here. The water pump is from Icemunmun. It is a functional, off-grid compatible water pump that allows your Sim to gather water for the washtub. Get it here. The pigs, just like the horse, are for decor only. They are from Severinka's set "Animals Converted Part 2" and it can be found here. The water collection home tower is from Ravahseen, and is part of the Alter Eco Utility Set which focuses on water and power production for regular and off-the-grid lots. My harvestable are from icemunmun, robin, piedpiper, and brazenlotus. Different colored pumpkins, tomatoes, potatoes, and more from Brazenlotus. The goats are also from Severinka's set "Animals Converted Part 2". The Creature Keeper's cabin is a debug item. My Sims cannot live inside it - so, my Sims live under it. A small graveyard. The little house acts like a house that belongs to a "pretend" neighbor. But inside, that is where my Sims craft vases, arrange flowers and make candles.
