A guide on how to rock climb and conquer Mt. Komorebi in The Sims 4: Snowy Escape. Rock Climbing 101: Sims 4 Style 1. Order the rock climbing gear by using the computer. ♥ You may climb without the gear, but you are less likely to be successful without it. ♥ Your gear will wear out in time. When it does, you can purchase a new one for 450 Simoleons, or you can repair it. 2. Craft Energy and Protein bars. Your Sims could go hungry if you don't have them! ♥ Energy Bars require apple and cherry. ♥ Protein Bars require blackberry and strawberry. 3. The ideal mood for climbing is to be focused. To attain this, your Sim must be happy while doing the following: playing video games, studying a book, using a telescope, and many more. 4. There is a starter wall near the Bunny Slopes. It is best that your Sim practice here before attempting to climb higher. Do note that your Sim can die if he is not skilled enough or is just unlucky to fall from a dangerous height. 5. Stock up on some first aid items at the vending machine called bits n' bobbles. You may also purchase your adventure gear through the computer. Anti-Arthropod Spray Use this to get rid of Giant Centipedes. Buzz-Off Canister Use this to fight-off the giant stinging Hornets. Crawling Critter Powder Useful against the creepy crawlers called Denkimushi. Emergency Emetic potion Relief from the burning poisonous stings of the Giant Hornets. Mr. Wayne's Bat Bane An anti-bat pheromones spritzer. Neuro-Calming Skin Salve Offers a complete and swift recovery from the after-effects of those electric shocks from a Denkimushi attack. Level 6 Your Sim can now climb the tallest walls, and your Sim now has the option to "Chat About Beta" of a route with other Sims. If you prefer to quickly level up your Sims skills, you may do so by leveling them up from 1 to 10. 1. Press ctrl+shift+c to open the cheat bar. 2. Copy and paste the cheat in the game's command window. 3. Press enter Copy and paste this - Stats.Set_Skill_Level Major_RockClimbing 10 Mountain Climb Excursion 1. To start an Excursion event, your Sim needs to pay 200 Simoleons. 2. Your Sim will need at least two (2) more Sims to be able to go on an excursion. 3. I suggest that your Sim be at least a level 6 climber. 4. Do not forget your supplies: food and first aid. 5. You need to pick an excursion leader and at least one other Sim to join. 6. The starting point for your excursion will be at the Onsen Bathhouse. Once there, you and your group will head to the lifts, then to the beginning of your climb. 7. There are trail markers that you need to reach before each stage begins. They are small and could easily be missed. 8. When you reach the second stage of the climb, I suggest that you let your Sims rest. There will be a tent waiting for your Sims to sleep in. 9. There are three (3) stages that your Sims need to climb before they can reach the top of the mountain. 10. Your Sims may quit if need be, but by doing so, all progress will be lost, and they will have to try it some other time. So, is your Sim ready to challenge the mountain? Do not forget to stock up on supplies and deterrents for possible wildlife encounters, which by the way, may kill your Sims - so prepare! Soon after my game was updated, I went in to test my game. I use many mods and CC; I was afraid to discover that most of my custom content was broken - I really wasn't in the mood to search for which cc was broken and which one wasn't. Soooo far, soooo good. I entered my current game and tested the platform - I'm happy! The second thing I checked was the new profile, and it does look better than what we had before. I entered a new lot, created a new Sim, and I chose to remodel a lot in the Glimmerbrook. As I had said, I use tons of Custom Content, and thankfully, none seems to be broken. Build mode Platforms - Having platforms in our game is a huge update. They can be stacked on top of each other, or you can create sunken living areas. The platform build tool is user-friendly. Click on your preferred platform (diagonal, square, and more) to select it, and put them in your area of choice. The height can be adjusted up or down with the new arrows that come with the widget that appears when you click on a platform. A platform's height is equivalent to a single step. Two (2) steps and higher will require a set of stairs - unless you get creative and use another platform by stacking it on top of the previous platform (turning them into your staircase). Once you have your platforms in place, you can customize how they look by using one of the many designs in the "Platform trims" subcategory. Half-Walls - There are 12 new Half-Walls to choose from. Together with the 7 previous Half-Walls, there is a total of 19 height variations that we can all be creative with. Sentiments - Personally, I have not played long enough to see how the Sentiments work, and I am really excited to experience the birth of at least one (1) sentiment in any of my Sims. For now, I shall quote the official Sims 4 site: “Sentiments are those special fuzzy feelings that form between Sims when they share a memorable moment together. Shared experiences between Sims now offer the opportunity for Sims to develop long-lasting sentiments between each other, which in turn affects how they feel and act in the presence of (or the absence of) another particular Sim. Unlike relationships between Sims, Sentiments can be a one-sided affair. When two or more Sims share an experience together, you may find that all, some, or none of them walk away from that moment, having formed a lasting impression of the other Sims that were involved. The base game includes a wide variety of these Sentiments, and Snowy Escape has additional ones tied to experiences within that pack." Sim Profiles - Within the Relationship Panel, click on the portrait of any Sim and select “Open Sim Profile” for all the info the active Sim knows about that Sim. Skin Tone Update - The latest patch includes fixes for texture compression, resolving the banding on the cheeks and foreheads, as well as discoloration on the tip of the nose. The problem with the red dots around the lips has also been addressed, together with the dark blotch between the eyes - both issues should be completely resolved at this time. Vacation - We can now place rental lots anywhere and send our Sims to vacation there. For one, I turned one of the residentials in Sulani into a rental lot where my Sims can spend a night or two. To do this, you need to enter Manage Worlds mode, choose a lot, update it from residential to rental, retail to rental, and more. Slippers - Toddlers can now wear a pair of slippers. S-Pop Radio Station - S-Pop, short for Sim-Pop is a radio station in the City Living expansion. What is the Snowy Escape? The Sims 4: Snowy Escape is the tenth expansion for The Sims 4 which launches on November 13, 2020. The expansion pack focuses more on Mt. Komorebi which is a Japanese-inspired mountainous neighborhood. Your Sims may live here or they can just spend their holidays in this beautiful and snowy world. On a side note, you need not have the Seasons pack to have snow - Snowy Escape comes with its own snow! You may also explore an interactive map of Mt. Komorebi here. There are 3 neighborhoods: Wakaba, Yukimatsu and Senbamachi. Wakaba - A small town that has a modern theme. Its town center features Yamachan - Mt. Komorebi’s official mascot. Senbamachi - A neighborhood that focuses more on bamboos and nature. Its architecture has more of an older and traditional feel. Yukimatsu - Situated on the slopes of Mt. Komorebi is a beautiful snowy neighborhood that offers rentals, snow sports, Snow Festivals, fun, danger and more. New Lots Rental - There are 3 rental lots available. These lots may be placed in other worlds, but they will remain rentals and cannot be converted into residentials. These lots will be available via the base game update. Residential - There are 6 residential lots available. Sutefani Onsen Bathhouse - The Onsen bathhouse is a Japanese spa which was created by a very talented simmer named Deligracy. You will find a pre-built spa in the Yukimatsu neighbourhood. Hazakura Lounge - The Hazakura Lounge is a hotspot where your Sims can grab drinks and meet new people. Izakaya Ippai Bar - Situated in the Senbamachi neighborhood, Izakaya Ippai Bar is a place where you can enjoy food, friends and a game of cards. Hanamigawa Koen Park - This beautiful park can be found in the Senbamachi neighborhood. There are tons of new features. Opinion The Sims 4 Snowy Escape is an expansion that I am dying to play. I cannot say that it is the best pack or that it is a great pack - that is something we can all figure out along the way. Skills There are two (2) new skills added to the new pack. Skill 1: SKIING This new skill can be learned by practicing on the slopes and/or reading the book "Mastery of Skiing Vol 1." The skill is available to teens onwards, for children will only learn the motor skill when skiing. Where to buy a new pair of skis - a vending machine that sells “bits’n bobbles” Skill 2: SNOWBOARDING This new skill can be learned by practicing on the slopes and/or reading the book "Snowboarding Vol 1/2 and 3." The skill is available to teens onwards, for children will only learn the motor skill when snowboarding. Practice and improve your skill - at level 3, you will unlock a cooler board. The next unlock will be at level 6, then at 10. Where to buy a new snowboard - vending machine or buy mode. A third skill called the Rock Climbing will be convenient in this pack. It was a secret skill in The Sims 4: Fitness Stuff, but a regular skill in this new pack. Skill 3: ROCK CLIMBING To learn this skill, you may read "Rock Climbing Vol 1/Vol 2/Vol 3" or you may practice climbing. Wall heights for rock walls are low, medium and high. Low rock walls - the rock climbing skill is not needed (found across the Bunny Slopes in Yukimatsu) Medium rock walls - the rock climbing skill needed is level 3 (found at the top of the slopes and next to the Bamboo forest at the Senbamachi neighborhood.) High rock walls - the rock climbing skill needed is level 6 ♥Prepare your Sim when doing the Mountain Climbing Excursion.
